Most monkeys can swim quite well. I have watched Long-tailed macaques in Bali dive from a branch into a pool and swim underwater back to the side and rejoin the line of monkeys waiting to dive again. Some primates ( gibbons and lemurs) other than monkeys dislike swimming. Island habitats suit these species well.

Yes I have seen monkeys swimming UNDER water at the Monkey Jungle in South Miami!!!! They were the CUTEST macaques!

My java swims under water in the bathtub just like a human.She loves the water.She swims with her eyes open--she started swimming when she was about 5 mo. old. She also jumps in the lake now and then.

Yes, alot of monkeys do swin and love the water. The Japanese Snow Monkey is a good example
